Alverstone was born on a mountain — quite literally.

A group of us, all entrepreneurs and long-time friends, were on a ski trip when the conversation turned, as it always seemed to, to accounts. It was tax season, and everyone had a story. One friend was paying eye-watering fees just to keep an accountant on retainer. Another had spent years hopping from firm to firm, never quite finding the right fit. We all wanted the same thing — a great accountant we could actually recommend to each other — but the more we talked, the clearer it became: that accountant didn’t exist.

Every option came with a catch. Some firms locked you into their own software. Others were vague about pricing until the invoice landed. That gap is where the idea for Alverstone was born — a name inspired by the mountain we were standing on, a fitting symbol for the climb every business owner faces at financial year-end.
